A lot of students have been sick lately and missing school. If you miss a Math 9 class, it is up to YOU to find out what you have missed. Have a friend get your homework for you....or check the blog.
My apologies for not having entries on the blog, but it was not posted yet on the school webpage. I will try to update the blog daily.
The Math 9 work load is heavy and you cannot afford to get behind. If homework is not done, you MUST come to Homework Club to the next day to catch up!!!
Due for Wednesday is p. 40 #5. a),b)

Thanks to the student, and two parents who made the effort to come out to Math Night.
Your odds of winning the contest door prize were pretty good! :)

Know your facts..... +,-,x,/
Since the students haven't had math classes since June, it is necessary to review some basic math. We have started with basic calculations with whole numbers, fractions and integers.
This year our school is putting a strong focus on computation. I expect that by Grade 9 students know their basic math facts (+,-,x,/). It didn't take long for me to notice that a lot of students do not know their facts, so I would like everyone to work on these on their own time. Following are some websites that are good for basic computation practise:
Mathmagician
Mental Maths
Timed Flashcards
I strongly suggest you work on these at home!

Homework....I know you love it!
Here's my policy on homework: You will have it, and you must do it!
Work not completed in class time will be assigned for homework. If your homework does not get done at home, you will have to attend Homework Club to complete it. Math 9 is in the mornings, so be prepared to stay for lunch that day if you didn't do your homework the night before. You are always welcome to come to Homework Club for extra help, or to work on your assignment that is due the next day.
The harder you work in class, the less homework you will have!
